Abby Shears
Counseling Student
About Me
Hi! My name is Abby Shears, and I am finishing my final semesters as a graduate student at Liberty University to complete my degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am being supervised by Matthew Whalen, LPC-S. Going back to finish my Masters degree later in life has given me the unique perspective of being married for over 23 years, raising three sons and navigating some of life’s biggest challenges. I believe this provides me with valuable insight as a counselor to partner with you on your road to wellness and healing.
Education and Experience
I completed my undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University and am currently finishing my final semesters at Liberty University where I will graduate with a Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in the Spring of 2026
How We Will Work Together
I believe that each of us has within ourselves the tools to heal and grow but may need a partner to not only encourage us but to help uncover what is holding us back from living the life we desire. Utilizing evidence-based modalities, such as CBT, I look forward to helping you heal, become the best version of yourself and achieve the goals you most want to accomplish.
Why Me?
If you are looking for a counselor with a breadth of life experience, who believes that you have the power to change and will work with you to tackle life’s challenges, I would love the opportunity to visit with you on how we can partner together and help you live your best life.
