About Me
Are you navigating a new change in your life and finding it hard to move forward? Whether it’s performance anxiety, depression, or another one of life’s challenges, it can feel overwhelming. I’m James Rominger, a LPC-Associate dedicated to helping adolescents and adults work through life’s changes and reconnect with their authentic selves.
Education and Experience
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University and my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Houston.
How We'll Work Together
Our work begins by identifying core wounds and beliefs that may be influencing how you see yourself and the world. Using CBT, we’ll examine how these beliefs show up in your everyday thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Through parts work, we’ll explore the internal “voices” or parts of you that contribute to emotional struggles—like the anxious part that catastrophizes, the avoidant part that procrastinates, or the perfectionistic part that never feels good enough. These parts are often shaped by early experiences and hold beliefs such as “I’m not safe,” “I’m not capable,” or “I have to do everything perfectly.”
By developing awareness and compassion for these inner parts, you’ll gain clarity and emotional insight, while CBT tools will help you shift unhelpful thought patterns and build healthier coping strategies. This combination empowers you to feel more focused, confident, and aligned with your values.
Why Me?
I believe that while our past shapes us, the present holds the power to transform us. My role is to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where you feel safe to explore, heal, and grow. I truly care about the people I work with and strive to offer not just techniques—but a genuine therapeutic relationship where change becomes possible.
Together, we’ll work toward a life where you feel more connected, capable, and fully yourself.
