I am currently a Master of Arts student in Liberty University’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling program and projected to graduate in 2023. Several years ago at a small mid-western college I studied Counseling and Sociology. My approach to counseling and fundamental view of life is that we are all in the midst of a story with plot twists, successes, failures, love, loss, and often mundane moments where we may feel stuck. The stories of our lives are complex and are not free of incidents that can propel us towards great heights and great lows. I am grateful for the journey that has led me back to counseling and the opportunity to walk alongside those that long to move past the obstacles they face. My own professional journey has included working in youth ministry, student development at a university, project management, nonprofit management, and retail. Most recently I have taught psychology to high school students in a Houston charter school. This teaching experience helped me recognize that in addition to talking about the value of psychology, my truest passion is to apply that knowledge in a way that helps provide insight and support to those striving for mental and emotional wellness. I have had the privilege of working with and learning from people from various walks of life facing unique challenges found in various stages of life. I can’t wait to meet you and look forward to walking with you along your journey.
