My name is Sara Tanner, and I am an LPC-Associate and graduate of Liberty University. The profession of counseling has become my passion because I truly delight in helping others grow into their full potential, in addition to partnering with them to create a healthy life. My own personal experiences throughout my life have also driven me towards my devotion to helping others as well as advocating for how beneficial and critical counseling is for the individual, no matter what stage in life one may find themself in. A core value of mine is that as human beings, we are to love and lift one another up, and it is a privilege to do so professionally within the realm of counseling.
My past experience includes ministry, pastoral care, and pastoral counseling, however, through Liberty University, I have CACREP approved training in psychology, human development, group counseling, multicultural counseling, counseling theories, crisis counseling, career counseling, marriage and family therapy, and psychopathology, in addition to the integration of psychology, theology, and spirituality in counseling and can include such topics and concepts in session at the client’s discretion.
Additional areas of training I have covered throughout my last year in academia is substance use/dependence counseling. Lastly, my undergraduate achievements include receiving my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and my minor in Biology from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2017.
I look forward to partnering with you as you begin your journey towards a healthy life.
